Suspend a session in a SRDF/Metro Smart DR environment

SRDF/Metro Smart DR is a two-region high available (HA) disaster recovery (DR) solution. It integrates SRDF/Metro and SRDF/A enabling HA DR for a SRDF/Metro session.

About this task

A suspend operation makes the devices in the Metro session NR on the SRDF link. By default, the Metro R1 remains accessible to the host, while the Metro R2 becomes inaccessible to the host. A suspend operation makes the devices in the DR session NR on the SRDF link, stopping data synchronization between an SRDF/Metro session and DR.

To suspend a session in a smart DR environment:

Steps

  1. Select the storage system.
  2. Click PROTECTION to view the PROTECTION dashboard and select SRDF/MetroDR from the High Availability section of the summary panel. Alternatively, select DATA PROTECTION > MetroDR.
  3. Select a smart DR environment and click Suspend.
  4. Select the Metro and DR session types.
  5. For a Metro session, select Keep R1 or Keep R2.
  6. Optional: Click Advanced Options to set the advanced options. Select the advanced options and click OK.
  7. Do one of the following:
    • Click Run Now to perform the operation now.
    • Expand Run Now and click Add to Job List to add this task to the job list, from which you can schedule or run the task at your convenience. For more information, see Schedule jobs and Preview jobs.
